FACTS ABOUT THE CRISIS IN BC'S PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The BC Education system has been systemically underfunded by Cristy Clark's government, which ran on a platform of "Families First". In addition, costs have been downloaded on school districts, and despite having a growing student population in BC, schools have been closed in record numbers by this government. Please read more about the current public education crisis in BC, and about the problems of other school districts. Richmond is not alone in its struggles.

THE URGENCY TO SEISMICALLY UPGRADE

BC schools urgently need seismic upgrading to protect the lives of our children and the staff who work there. We are expecting "The Big One" at any time, an earthquake measuring at 9.0 or above. The effects of an earthquake without proper repair to schools' structures will be beyond devastating. Richmond schools at risk.
